BREAKING NEWS: A COMPANY CONTRACTED TO FIX BOMBED ANTS FOUND TO BE BEHIND ATMS BOOMINGS
A company contracted to banks to repair and maintain damaged ATMs has had several employees arrested, who are among four suspects found in possession of stained banknotes.
The arrests took place on Thursday, 13 February 2025, at various locations. A multidisciplinary team consisting of SAPS Crime Intelligence, Gauteng Highway Patrol Unit, Provincial Investigation Unit, JMPD K9, Bank Investigators, and Vusela Covert conducted a raid at the company, where one suspect was apprehended.
A search of the suspect yielded washed currency, and further stained banknotes were discovered at his residence. The investigation led the team to Alexandra and Tembisa, where three additional suspects, including the ringleader, were arrested in possession of stained currency valued at over R160,000 and chemicals used to clean tainted money.
